The European Academy of Sciences (EAS) is a non-profit non-governmental,
independent organization of the most distinguished scholars and
engineers performing forefront research and the development of advanced
technologies, united by a commitment to promoting science and technology
and their essential roles in fostering social and economic development.
The Academy emerged from a successful project that started in 1999 with
the goal to link universities, research organizations, industries, and
governmental bodies to help economies in flagging regions of Europe.
The Academy elects its members based only on their scientific merits.
Their country of origin, nationality, or other criteria are not taken
into consideration.
The participation of industrial partners in the Academy's activities is
considered as an essential aim; it will allow the Academy to organize or
promote international research networks and research initiatives and
promoting innovation culture .
