Prof. Dr. Christian Pedrini Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, France
Doctor Director Christian Pedrini was during 12 years (1995-2006) Head of the "Laboratoire de Physico-Chimie des Matériaux Luminescents, UMR 5620 CNRS" at the Université Lyon 1. He is presently Director of Research Eméritus CNRS. He is graduated and Ph.D (2 thesis in Physics) from the University of Lyon 1, France. He was also a Post-doc in Princeton University (1975-76). His main field of specialization is the luminescence of solids as shows his current research interest “luminescence and scintillation mechanisms, charge transfer luminescence, energy transfer, and excited state dynamics.” His other fields of research are “solid state lasers, and scintillators”. He has published 5 books and more the 330 papers in refereed journals. He has also made more than 300 communications (many invited talks) in scientific meetings.

Professor Sasa Divjak is the Head of Laboratory for Computer Graphics and Multimedi at University of Ljubljana, Slovenia; he is also a Senior member of IEEE and Chair of IEEE Slovenia Computer Society Chapter, Chairman of CoLoS association and a member of the European Academy of Sciences. He is past Vice-President of Iskra Delta Computers, Vice Dean for Research and Development at the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Ljubljana and at the Faculty of Computer and Information Science, Dean of the Faculty of Computer and Information Science, visiting professor at University of Udine (Italy), Head of Chair for Software at the Faculty of Computer and Information Science, Ljubljana. He was also responsible for many projects devoted to the computer supported simulation and automation of different technological processes and for many projects related to multimedia and computer literacy, Co-author of SW support of first Slovenian robots, collaborator in the Italian regional educational project "Factories of the future", member of Program Committee for computer literacy of Slovenian Ministry of Education and Science and Chairman of IEEE Slovenia Section.

Professor Richard Durst Cornell University
coming soon Professor Richard A. Durst is Professor Emeritus of Chemistry at Cornell University and is currently Adjunct Professor in the Cornell Department of Biological & Environmental Engineering. He received his Ph.D in analytical chemistry in 1963 from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He joined the U.S. National Bureau of Standards (now NIST) in 1966 where he served as Chief of the Electrochemical Analysis Section and Deputy Director of the Center for Analytical Chemistry. In September 1990, he joined the faculty of Cornell University. He served on several editorial advisory boards, including Analytical Chemistry and Applied Biochemistry and Biotechnology. He was a member of the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and served on various IUPAC Commissions and Committees for over 30 years and became an IUPAC Fellow in 2002. Also in 2002, he was elected a member of the European Academy of Sciences. In addition to his earlier research in the area of electroanalytical chemistry, his recent research interests included the application of biological recognition (antibodies, nucleic acid probes and natural receptors) and liposome amplification strategies to the development biosensors.

Discrete Mathematics and Computer Science
Prof. Dr. Luisa Iturrioz Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, France
Professor Luisa Iturrioz has been professor of Mathematics at the Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 since 1976. The field of her scientific skill is discrete mathematics and modelling. Influenced by the evolution of her research domain, she became in the 1990’s, professor of Theoretical Computer Science at the same university. She published numerous papers and books, and gave invited talks in international conferences and seminars. In Lyon, she has organised scientific meetings and summer schools. She participated in numerous national and regional French research programs. She has also been involved in European programs. In 1993, she organised the ETMAVAL network (European Teams on Many-Valued Logics) and she has been the Chairperson of the program COST Action n° 15 (in Informatics)(1): "Many- Valued Logics for Computer Science Applications" (1995-2000).

rofessor Lau has been working in the development of advanced composites, smart materials and structures, nanocomposites and healthcare products for many years, he has received numerous academic awards including the best paper prize awarded by The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (1998), the Sir Edward Youde Memorial Fellowship Award (2000), The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Postdoctoral Research Fellowship (2001-2003), Young Scientist Award  in materials science and engineering category (2002), Young Engineer of the Year Award 2004 and Faculty Outstanding Award in Research and Scholarly Activities 2005. He has been serving as organizing committee and editorial board member in many international journals, conferences, organizations and institutions. He is Regional Editor of American Journal of Applied Science, Associate Editor of the International Journal of Structural Health Monitoring and The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers Transactions, Co-editor of the special issues of “Nanocomposites” and “Bio-engineered materials” of the Journal of Composites Part B: Engineering, and “Nanocomposites for Space and Infrastructure Applications” of Composites Science and Technology.

Professor Jerzy Leszczynski is Professor of Chemistry and President’s Distinguished Fellow at the Jackson State University, Jackson Mississippi (since 1998) NSF Center of Excellence – Computational Center for Molecular Structure and Interactions.  His research activities cover a broad range of projects including studies of nature of chemical bonds, theoretical predictions of molecular potential energy surfaces, structures of weakly bonded complexes, properties of DNA fragments, interactions of explosives with soil, decomposition of nerve agents on metal oxides and clays. He has published about 500 referred papers in leading journals and more than 30 book chapters.  
He has been selected to: European Academy of Sciences (2002); International Academy of Engineering, (2003); Ukrainian Ecological Academy of Sciences, (2003) and European Academy of Sciences, Arts and Humanities, (2004).

Professor Theodore E. Simos is Professor of Numerical Analysis with Applications on Computational Physics and on Computational Chemistry. He was Visiting Professor to several Universities. He is Corresponding Member of the European Academy of Sciences, Corresponding Member of European Academy of Arts, Sciences and Humanities and Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC). He is President of the European Society of Computational Methods in Sciences and Engineering (ESCMSE). He has received numerous prizes for his scientific research activities. He is Series Editor of the Lecture Series on Computer Science and on Computational Sciences, Editor-in-Chief of four Scientific Journals, member of the Editorial Board in numerous Scientific Journals. He has been Guest Editor to numerous Special Issues of Scientific Journals. He is the Founder and the Chairman of the Scientific and Organizing Committee of three International Conferences on Applied Mathematics and Computational Science. He is also member of the Scientific Committee to numerous International Conferences on Applied Mathematics and Computational Science. He is the author of more than 215 papers in Scientific journals 5 books and 4 chapters in books of his research area.
